My Cebu Trip Part 1

For the 12 years I have lived in Philippines, I have never went out of the island of Luzon.... so for my visit to Manila last Oct. 8, me and my friends decided to go to Cebu for our out of town trip. We took the Airphil Express on the morning of Oct. 14 and arrived in Mactan International Airport. We went straight to the wharf for our "Island Hopping" trip. The weather was quite beautiful and sunny.

Our boat guides were quite nice and we had the boat to ourselves~!!! We rode the boat for quite sometime before arriving at the first island. We actually had no idea about the "Island Hopping", we thought we would hop between islands and we could either sunbathe or swim. But the 1st island we went to, we would just dive into the water and snorkel. Far from the island... and there we had to pay 100PHP for entering the water. So we decided to pass that island and onto the next. The second island, we paid 180PHP and was able to enter the island.

We enjoyed snorkeling there though the current was strong and I struggled :D. It was quite fun. Onto the last island.... shown on the pictures below.... looks really beautiful from afar.... but looks can be really deceiving. The "exit" fee was 150PHP (by the way, it is per person)... we only went to the island to see if 150 was worth to hang in this island... unfortunately the island was kinda deserted.... the resort was out of business for quite some time, the white sand was covered with shells and rocks... and they still asked for the "fee" when all we did was take pictures. HMMPH~ but one of my friends made a deal with them and we only paid 450PHP (we were 5).

The last place we went to was floating restaurant.... which was a disappointment since the restaurant was part of a package and we didn't have that so a lot of food was not available and it was quite expensive. But the food was okay....

After eating we returned to the land and went to our hotel. On our way, heavy rain caused so much traffic so it took us quite sometime to go to Cebu city.

  6. me too sis, snorkeling is harder for me than diving. Kasi I don't know how to go down the surface with just a snorkeling equipment unlike other people.

  11. @madz: I think it's harder to travel around when you are living in that country, I have lived in Korea for 10 years now and I haven't been to any tourist spots outside seoul :P
